ALOHA ʻĀINA

Aloha ʻĀina, "Love for the land", is a crucial concept in Hawaian health.  Because of the close relationship between Kanaka Maoli and our land, we tend to thrive when we are able to keep a close, loving, healthy relationship with the land we come from -- and become unhealthy when we cannot do this.

Because of the importance of Aloha ʻĀina, caring for our health as Kānaka means keeping the land around us healthy and flourishing.  This may involve working the land physically, activism, study, or all of the above.
